SPEK Sheet Sync — Privacy Policy

SPEK Sheet Sync (“the App”) is an internal tool operated by Spek Optics (“SPEK”, “we”), Canada. It is not offered to the public and has no end users other than SPEK staff.

What the App accesses

With the account owner’s authorisation, the App reads, from SPEK’s own Instagram professional account (@spekoptics_) and the Facebook Page connected to it:

• the account’s profile (username, account ID);
• the list of direct-message conversations and, for each, the timestamp and sender of the most recent message.

What the App does with it

The App records, in SPEK’s private internal sheet of creator partnerships, the date of the most recent message with each creator and whether SPEK or the creator sent it. This tells our team who is waiting on a reply. Message content is not stored.

What the App does not do

It does not read messages from any account other than SPEK’s own; it does not sell, rent or share data with third parties; it does not use data for advertising, profiling or automated decision-making; it does not send messages.

Storage and retention

Data is stored in a private Google Sheet accessible only to SPEK staff, and in an access token held in a private configuration file. Contact dates are retained while the creator relationship is active and deleted when the creator’s record is deleted.

Deletion

To request deletion of any data the App holds about you, email jordan@spekoptics.ca. We delete it within 30 days. Revoking the App’s access in Instagram (Settings → Apps and websites) or Facebook (Settings → Business Integrations) stops all further access immediately.

Legal bases and rights

Where GDPR or similar law applies, we process this data on the basis of our legitimate interest in managing our creator partnerships. You may request access, correction or deletion at the address above.

Changes

Material changes will be posted at this URL with a new “last updated” date.
